We all know by now that Google has an entire team dedicated to creating a new mobile phone. But is it really going to compete with the iPhone?

In short, the answer appears to be no. The phone is aimed at consumers that don't actually own a computer. If they were able to create a low-cost phone that connected users to the internet, they would then be able to tap a previously unreachable portion of the search-engine market.

Google aims to keep the phone on the side of cheap hoping to hit the $150 price point. Google has also stated that they have strong ties with Apple, and that since they are targeting the low-end market, their phone will not adversely affect their relationship.
