I don’t think Apple has any other choice but to make good on their word.  Apple and Cisco agreed to share the iPhone name in February and since then have been exploring a half-dozen ways for their products can work together.

Apple vs. Cisco

We're optimistic, but it's still early," Giancarlo, 49, said about the negotiations in a Friday interview in San Francisco. Ways in which the companies' products can work together "are now being investigated by both technical teams."  It looks like Cisco isn’t waiting around for Apple to make good on their word.  Good for you Cisco!

So what does Cisco want from Apple or more specifically, what kind of interoperability are they expecting on the iPhone?  In a perfect world, the iPhone would allow users to get the same services, such as instant messaging and teleconferencing, on their Cisco desk phones and Apple iPhone.  What this means exactly, I’m not quit sure.  But what’s more interesting is, how will AT&T play into this?

Is three’s a crowd?  Do you think AT&T will play along – even if the Apple/Cisco pact may potential cost them a bundle on data subscriptions?
