I just paid my €100 deposit to get my iphone on the 14th & ever since I have heard just a load of bad press about the iphone - Ireland has a culture of overpricing on products - on a European level we are one of the most expenive countries to live in. I live in Dublin where the cost of rent, service, products & living standards are at their worst. What O2 & Apple are doing is just what every other company, bank & service provider is doing & screwing us on price!!!

But I would pay an extra amount to get a "high standard" product & service provider - I think most people would if they can afford it however between different reviews I have read bad experiences with the Iphone. I am having serious reservations now about going back & using a hard earned upgrade I got from being on contract with O2 for 2 years & paying another €299.

Its absolutely amazing to know even in the states ur getting screwed. knowing that I pay the equivalent of FIVE POUNDS sterling for 1400 mins basic and 900 heart to heart and free sms to the same network users but have to pay 60 cents or 5 pence per sms to non same network users.

Where am I ???????.

In HONG KONG ! And im using a company called PCCW.

However, i did pay about $500 US for the iphone with unlock included.

Yes the mobile networks are completely ripping off the Irish, all mobile contracts are a rip off, its a clear case of price fixing between the networks, someone should take them to the European court of law. How can O2 justify these prices when you can cross the boarder into Northern Ireland and go onto the UK O2 network at a much lower rate. Come one you Irish don't stand for this S**T your being ripped off.

That's total B.S. First the Irish are being stiffed for overpriced, slower speed broadband and now this? An $800 iPhone?

Does corporate greed know no bounds there?
