Will the release of the iPhone bring IT departments to their knees? That is what Greg Murphy over at TechNewsWorld is speculating. He seems to think that the iPhone will be one of the biggest headaches for corporate IT personnel.
The biggest concern that he cites is the fact that it is WiFi enabled. This could potentially cause network security issues. While I agree that the possibility is there, I doubt very much that these IT departments will even allow them to gain access to the network anyway. The phone can already get email and internet without wireless, why do they need WiFi in the office?
I'm sure that there are concerns about devices such as the iPhone, but it's really no more of a threat than any other “smartphone†out there.
