It might be, especially with a high-resolution screen that adjusts automatically as you rotate from portrait to landscape mode and vice versa. Then there's report of three ARM processor cores and a Broadcom chip. Mix all the processing power and a marvelous screen with tons of storage, you get one ass kicking portable gaming device.
Now wait, what about third-party games? Isn’t the iPhone closed to third-party developers? Yes it is, but (and this is a very BIG butt) there is evidence that Apple will allow third-party developers to release applications for the iPhone, under close supervision, similar to the iPod games.
So why are you telling me all this for? Well I’ve been prepping to share with you that Businessweek has heard that Apple is in talks with Electronic Arts regarding games for the iPhone.
Mitch Lasky, senior vice-president of EA Mobile, says his company is discussing plans for games on the phone. "We have been talking to Apple about games on (the iPhone)," Lasky says. "We see a lot of the technology that we've utilized on the iPod side being incorporated into the iPhone."
Apple introduced the iPhone at Macworld in San Francisco, and the anticipated arrival date is sometime in June of this year.
