iPhone may not be coming to Canada after all

We reported back in January that Rogers Wireless would be the exclusive carrier of the iPhone in Canada. Unfortunately for Canadian customers, this may not actually be the case.

According to analyst Ronald Gruia, the problem may lie with the costs associated with adding a new phone such as this to their lineup. This would include training for their staff as well as marketing costs. He further speculates that Rogers may have existing contracts for other phones that could be holding them back.

Either way, this is bad news for Canadian customers. Rogers Wireless is currently the only provider in Canada that uses a GSM network. As we all know, the iPhone only works with GSM.
