iPhone, kids approved

A couple of kids saw me caressing my yet to be activated iPhone at Newark Airport yesterday, so they asked if they can play around with it. With most other phones, I would mind especially if there wasn’t a case or screen protector on it. However, with the iPhone, I didn’t mind or have a worry in the world that by some chance they’d scratch the screen. What about dropping the iPhone? I wasn’t too afraid since the floor was carpeted, plus thanks to PCMag’s video showing the abuse of their new iPhone assured me the iPhone was kid proof.

I handed the iPhone over, and watch how they instantly, and intuitively used the index finger to work the iPhone’s gorgeous 3.5-inch glass top touch screen. It was simply an amazing sight to see.  Jump over to watch the iPhone in action.

Once they were done mucking around, one boy told me he’d buy the iPhone in a heartbeat. I quickly grabbed my camera and started filming. You have to hear the words come out of his mouth for yourself to understand how much the iPhone is already shaping these young children who aren’t even teenagers yet!

My 3 year old son is remarkably adept at using my iPhone. He picks it up, swipes to unlock, swipes through multiple screens to get to his favorite apps like Topple and Barnyard Buddies, starts up the apps and plays like a pro.

He learned to do this rather quickly with minimal guidance. Quite a testament to the device’s ease of use I thought.
