Pepsi released a controversial application for the iPhone called AMP UP Before You Score. The app was supposed to help men seduce women while promoting the energy drink. Pepsi is removing the app after it caught heat for stereotyping women. I wonder who thought the app was a good idea to begin with.

VW has released an app for the iPhone to help market its new GTI for 2010. The app is called Real Racing GTI and was released yesterday free of charge. The game offers the chance to win real GTIs as well.
A new app expected to be approved for the iPhone by next year called Lala could bring the price for a legally purchased track for the iPhone to a mere dime. The company already allows users to listen to any track on its service in the tunes entirety free, one time. The tracks will be streaming only though.

I heard about the Pepsi app, in my opinion it was incredibly stupid to release it. In today’s society, everyone is so sensitive about stereotyping etc, so they should have already known it wasn’t going to work.
As for the VW app, I’m not really seeing the point, but I suppose it could be a bit of fun for a few minutes.
Real Racing GTI is awesome!!! 1) I can’t believe that it is free and 2) I can’t believe I am seeing graphics like this on the iPhone.
Go VW!!! Too bad I own a MazdaSpeed.
