You've probably read plenty of conflicting views about Griffin's ClearBoost iPhone case today. Griffin claim their case will boost your signal; here at iPhone Buzz we've got the ClearBoost in to review and, because we're just as curious as you whether Griffin's marketing pans out, we'll be thoroughly testing it over the weekend.

Griffin ClearBoost for iPhone

Griffin's secret weapon is a copper antenna snaking up the inside of the case, supposedly amplifying your AT&T coverage (and in fact they say it's "specially tuned" to AT&T's commonly used frequencies) by funnelling it down to the iPhone's internal aerial. The upside is promising, too: better quality calls and fewer disconnections, faster, more stable downloads and wider coverage areas.

Passive cellphone signal boosters have traditionally been all talk and no action; we're not jumping to any conclusions, and we don't think you should either. If the ClearBoost does what Griffin says it will, $29.99 is a bargain - if not, it's an expensive plastic case with a pointless stubby aerial. Either way, join us on Monday to find out.
