Apparently the iPhone activation system went down for pretty much the whole day yesterday. People with new iPhones just couldn’t activate them.

A call to AT&T verified that it was definitely on Apple’s side of things meaning something bad happened in Cupertino. No word on what it is as of yet either.

Maybe it had something to do with preparations for European iPhone launches. Or it could have been something to do with the bricking that the latest firmware did, making it so phones with the altered IMEI can’t re-register their iPhone, who knows.
