Reported due in stores on Friday, some users are revealing that shipments of the iPhone 3GS have started. As we know, both Apple and AT&T have promised placing online pre-orders would be effective on the same day the new iPhone goes on sale in their retail locations.
Kevin Hanson, one of the buyers who got the shipment notification, wrote in his blog:
NICE! I should receive my 32GB white iPhone 3G S by this upcoming Friday. I’l actually be on vacation until Sunday, so I won’t get to open it until then.
Available in black and white options, the iPhone 3GS costs $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the 32GB model.

When I pre-ordered a G1 from T-Mobile, it was sent well in advance of the launch date, however, UPS offers a service to mass-shippers where the item can be delivered on a particular date, regardless of when it arrives. I’m assuming this must be the case with the 3GS’s.
Mine has shipped as well, but to the AT&T store where I ordered it, can’t wait :) I’ll be getting up early as to be there at 7am, when they open up for line of people who pre-ordered…
Just got my 3GS 32GB shipping email this morning (June 16). According to UPS, it has left the factory in China.
I got my UPS notification this morning as well and the estimated delivery is tomorrow 6/17/09. I believe this date is accurate because I bought an item from Apple shipped to me a couple of months ago from China and received it the next day as well!
My Tracking info said that my 3Gs left China on the 16th and should be here in Texas by the 18th… Woo Woo… Think I may have to cancel the office for the day…
Mine shows it was shipped from China however it is now stuck in Kentucky and the notice says that it is being held for a specific date.
Still no word this AM (6/18) that mine has shipped. I ordered on 6/9. I’m worried! :(

I received a shipping notification that part of my order will be shipped via FedEx standard overnight and should be here tomorrow (06/19). The email said that part of my order is on back order and I will be notified when it is to be sent. I ordered an iphone 3gs 16gb on June 9th. Since I only ordered the phone and no accessories I have no earthly idea what they could be sending other than the phone for tomorrow.
