iPhone 3G is selling out almost everywhere, and the shortage of Apple’s newest handset could last up to a month. Those who did not get them during the launch day is pretty much out of luck if they plan to purchase one this month. While Apple is trying very hard to boost the iPhone 3G availability, it will still take sometime for the supplier to get it over to the store chain.

While the shortage continues, it does not mean all Apple’s retail stores are out of stock; according to a Macworld’s article, 27 percent of Apple’s store shows the iPhone 3Gs are in stock.
The black 16GB iPhone is the lowest in availability on those stores, however the 8GB iPhone 3G is starting to disappear from the shelf too. International sales seems to be taking away a big chunk of iPhone 3G inventory, unlike last year when only US hogging the stocks.

All ATT stores in Fort Worth, TX are sold out. You can order one from them & delivery will be in 1-3 weeks. Went to the Apple store in Southlake, TX. They get a daily delivery of up to 50 phones. However, the line forms late at night & the store hands out numbers every morning at 0700. Apple employees said there’s no end in sight.
There is a petition at http://www.iphonefeatures.org to get Apple to include basic features such as ‘copy and paste’ and more bluetooth profiles in the next iPhone software release. Please sign it!
hahahahha That guy looks like an old version of Parez Hilton (no offense hopefully) :) and BTW I got my shiny new 3G by traveling 600 miles to Edinburgh from my home in Leicestershire. But it was worth the trip. Only problem was by the time I got there they only had the 8gig version left - not that I cared too much.
So here’s to my new 3G iPhone baby - when will they be releasing an installer app for it, any one know???

I ordered my white iPhone from my local AT&T store on Thursday July 17th. It was overnighted from Memphis, TN to Phoenix, AZ on the 18th. I got it yesterday (the 19th). My father ordered an 8 gig on the same day from the same store and it is still on backorder. Looks like white is the easiest to get. Good thing because that’s what I wanted!
i just ordered a 8g black one from the AT&T store in San Jose, CA. The rep told me 7-10 business days. That was Friday morning, we’ll see. An old lady next to me at the service desk was unboxing her white one. Hopefully it doesn’t take too long.
