As the iPhone 3G is released across the world, it comes as no surprise that we'd start to see countries with multiple carries. And that's precisely what's happened in Turkey.

Vodafone announced that it will distributed the iPhone in Turkey several weeks ago, but now it seems Turkcell is hot on their heels. Turkcell is the country's largest provider. They currently have 35.4 million customers.

When can Turkish residents expect the iPhone? No release date has been provided yet and pricing is still a mystery as well. All we known at the moment is Turkcell will be offering up the iPhone sometime later this year for both prepaid and subscription customers. This will no doubt spread the iPhone's availability across the country bringing in new customers.
