The iPhone has to have GPS capabilities since the FCC requires all cell phones to have it so that emergency services can locate callers. When you call 911, your lat/long pops up on my screen and using the satellite mapping software we have, I can lead officers or fire personnel to callers usually with a discrepancy ratio of only a few meters. Trust me, BIG BROTHER is watching you... and while I know the iPhone is so much more than just a cell phone, it's still a cell phone. I’m a 911 dispatcher.
