The second iPhone update version 1.0.2 just hit the Internet. Apple released the first update three weeks ago with next to zero new features other than a few enhancements here and there.

iPhone 1.0.2 Update

Don’t expect much from this update because all you will get are “Bug fixes.”  The update is 92MB in size, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that something new will pop up when I least unexpected it. That being said, I haven’t seen anything new or out of the ordinary yet. What a bummer.

Thanks for the tip Dan!

P.S. I got the same error from the first update resulting in a full restore/update.

Wow! 92MB? Mine was only 3.5MB, maybe I’m missing something. Safari does feel snappier but my auto speller isn’t working right now. That seems strange. I wonder what else is changed?

Geez Vince! you would think you would know that the 92mb file is a restore file and not just the update… the update is only 3.7mb. whats up with the wrong info? Not kewl….. oh and my update installed in about 3 minutes and no problems with it…

well geez Mark! You’d think that a simple update from the almighty Apple would crash forcing a full restore on an unmodded iPhone. I report what I see. So if you don’t like it, you can take your attitude elsewhere. God knows there are a shitload of other iPhone sites on the net. In case you need help, might I suggest iphonetopsite.com, courtesy of yours truly. And by the way don’t let the invisible door kick you on the ass as you leave my site next.

WOW! a little testy to some criticism! thats ok though… in my line of work its mild compared to what Ive heard over the past 25 years… you have a great website and I appreciate the information you put on it daily. But this is America and we can be free to say our peace so I did….

Mine installed fine as well. I would imagine problems were very limited given the fact there is no uproar that I’ve seen.

I just did the upload and from what I can tell, the major thing seems to be WAY better WiFi reception. Before the update, even though I have a great setup, I’d only get two or three bars ;-( Now I get all bars and Safari is kicking double speed. If that is all the 1.0.2 update did, that is a big deal to me. I have seen some folks say that the volume problem has been improved; however, I really have not had a chance to check that out yet.

Anyway, no doubt the WiFi has been improved - no doubt!
