If you get the urge (or need) to translate while out and about, Google has just put the finishing touches on their Google Translate site, specifically targeted to iPhone and iPod touch users. All you have to do is visit translate.google.com on your mobile Safari browser and let the translating commence.

This web-based app is really just a pared down version of the standard Google Translate, but it still supports all the same language pairs. What I think is beneficial here, however, is your past translations are stored, making for easy access to commonly used phrases, even when Internet access is not available.
Google Translate has been "optimized for speed" and will automatically update language support as the regular version of the app is updated. If you're looking for something free and easy to use for simple translations, this is probably the way to go.

A little off topic (from somebody living in Barcelona):
WTF! Really bad translations here!
Can you take me to the airport please? -> ¿Me puede llevar al aeropuerto, por favor? – OK!
¿Puede usted me llevan a el aeropuerto, por favor? –is-like-> Can you, me take, to the airport please? (really rare xD) -WTF!
How much does it cost? -> ¿Cuánto cuesta? -> is ok! :D
May I have a large coffe please? -> ¿Me puede poner un café largo, por favor? – OK!
¿Puedo tener un gran café por favor? –is-like–> ¿Can I have a big coffee? – WTF! really rare and funny! XD
