We've already heard that several of the larger game studios are shifting some of their energies toward creating games for the iPhone. It's no surprise that more companies are also following suit. Independent engine developer GarageGames has just announced the availability of their Torque engine on the iPhone. This will allow developers provide 2D and 3D environments within iPhone apps. It also has a full WYSIWYG editor, scripting language and integration with 3D modeling packages.

The engine will support multi-touch input and touchscreen gesture recognition, which are two very important features when dealing with the iPhone. Developers interested in licensing their engine will need to contact GarageGames for pricing info.
