Mere days after the Jailbreak solution for iPhones running firmware version 1.1.1 comes the iPhone Dev Team’s full unlocksoftware – and unlike commercial ventures like iPhone SIM Free, AnySIM will cost you nothing. The software has been tested on both 1.0.2 iPhones as well as 1.1.1, and apparently allows you to use any carrier’s SIM with the cellphone.

However, unlocking an old-firmware handset and then updating it via the iTunes to the latest firmware version will, we’re told, re-lock the iPhone, so do any upgrades prior to installation. Of course, what this means when Apple next releases a feature upgrade is uncertain. Similarly, if you unlocked your iPhone with a previous version of AnySIM, then updated it and bricked it, do not use this version of the software; there are plans afoot to release a “re-virginiser” that should restore a bricked iPhone to store-fresh state.
As with any hack, you run the risk of damaging your iPhone – perhaps permanently – and invalidating your warranty and/or conravening your contract with Apple and AT&T. Attempt at your own risk… but if you do, make sure you tell us all about it!

I ve just unlock my new iPhone 1.1.1 with the anysim. But as you know the cell phone doesn’t work… What can I do? Load the new anysim software???
Can I use anySIM 1.1 with WindowsXP?
