Ouch! So that's what happens when the iPhone takes a real beating. The owner of the phone tried answering it while it was still plugged in, dropped it and watched in horror as it slammed into the corner of a table. Man, that's rough.

So far, this is the first truly broken iPhone that we have come across. What's really amazing is that he took it to the Apple store and had a new one within minutes, free of charge. Damn, Apple, talk about customer service.

This guy was fortunate enough to have Apple replace is phone, but I wouldn't advise going out of your way to break yours and get a new one.

the replacement talks very good about customer service from apple
I accidentally dropped mine and it makes this one look like new. It has about 5 different areas where there is a shatter pattern. Apple wants $278 to fix it (I’m sure the part plus labor can’t be more than $50). I suspect they just give you a new one. Not happy.
