Facebook for iPhone 3.0 is coming very soon, adding some more cool features like Events listings, Notes, Pages, and photo albums. But, according to Joe Hewitt, lead engineer for Facebookâs iPhone application, Push Notifications is in development but it won’t make it into 3.0 — so we should wait until the next update later this summer.
Hewitt explains the new features:
- The “new” News Feed
- Like
- Events (including the ability to RSVP)
- Notes
- Pages
- Create new photo albums
- Upload photos to any album
- Zoom into photos
- Easier photo tagging
- Profile Pictures albums
- A new home screen for easy access to all your stuff, search, and notifications
- Add your favorite profiles and pages to the home screen
- Better Notifications (they link to the comments so you can reply)
- Quickly call or text people right from the Friends page
- Messages you are typing will be restored if you quit or are interrupted by a phone call

Push notification for Facebook on iPhone will make other messaging platforms like AIM and YIM old news.
Video uploading, PLEASE!
Totaly agree with Ernie Oporto :-)
According to All Facebook, there are more than 3 millions daily users that connect Facebook using an iPhone. Its seems that iPhone owners prefer to connect Facebook with their iPhone than with a PC.
Do we know an estimated date of availability?
I log on to FB on my computer more frequently than on my iPhone because the interface of the app is so UN user friendly. Hopefully, FB has listened to the reviews, comments & critiques of the app users & adjusted accordingly!
I can’t wait to get this I prefer to connect using my iPhone … I just wish I could manage my friends list so I still have to cannect using my PC to add or remove someone :(
