Downloading via iTunes made easy on iPhone

A patent that has been discovered today shows that Apple is working hard to ensure you’ll have no problem spending shopping on iTunes. The patent describes the method of “Configuring of a computing device in a secure manner.” It basically means that your phone will perform “transactions” with Apple’s servers by first going through what appears to be the user’s computer, which then talks to Apple’s servers. The server then requests a “digital signature” that ensures that nothing is downloaded without your permission.

The patent description is rather vague, which leads one to believe that they haven’t gotten all of the details hashed out. This can be expected with a product that’s still months away. As long as they get the details straight in time for the release, I’m happy.
