KTLA reporter, Eric Spillman got more than he bargained for when poking fun at some anxious iPhone customers at the Apple store in Burbank, CA.
"It's a phone, I mean, come on!" he yells in exasperation at the line of people. Some look uncomfortable. Others smile and laugh. Some even look like they're seething in silent fury. But then, after some poking from the in studio anchors, Spillman rushes over to one man and asks him a rather personal question. You can tell he was expecting a meek or silly answer. But what he got instead was priceless.
I think my inner geek rather enjoys to see people that think they are so awesome knocked down a peg. Yes, it is just a phone, but really. Isn't it so much more than that? Why is the perception of being a first adopter of technology and "having a life" mutually exclusive? It baffles my poor brain.
Watch the video and have a laugh.

What a jackass.. you dont see them attacking jocks or businessmen.. just us techs!!
To be honest, the response was pretty weak, and just made him seem butt hurt.
This isn’t an attack on techs…it would be equally ridiculous to wait in line 10 hours for a pair of shoes as well. People honestly just don’t value their time I guess.
ET Cook: Depends on if you’re a iPhone app developer. Some guys standing in line to make 100K when he gets is iPhone to test his new app that sells for $10 in the app store. I’d say standing in line is worth it. Then again…what do i know, I’m just some app developer ;)
folks who didn’t wait in line to buy the iPhone 3G, is definitely SOL and wished they had, because now, a few hours in line sure beats waiting another 3 to 4 weeks to buy one.
Why would you post a video that I can’t actually watch on my iPhone? The YouTube video isn’t iPhone compatable. Seems kinda weird for a site that devotes itself to the iPhone. Also why have you guys failed to make a website icon for the iPhone home screen?? Cmon guys!!!
Hey Cory, why doesn’t Apple have an iPhone compatible website? Have you ever tried to visit the Apple site on an iPhone? It sucks!
And this reporter is a douchebag. I haven’t watched my TV in over a year but thanks for reminding me why I don’t.
