iJailBreak

by James Allan Brady on October 15, 2007

AriX, a gentleman from our sister site, Apple-Touch.com, took the time to automate the jailbreak process for Mac Intel users by making iJailBreak. Sure, judging from the title, you might think it was for the iPhone, but not so much, its for the iPod Touch, the iPhone’s service provider free cousin. Word is, he is working on versions for PPC based Macs, and then he’ll likely begin work on a version ... continued »

Rumor: anySIM 1.1 for firmware 1.1.1 coming real soon

by James Allan Brady on October 15, 2007

There is a site that has an article up claiming that the new anySIM app, the one that works with iPhone firmware 1.1.1, should be out soon. They even have a supposed picture of the software. Apparently the software was even available for download for a while last night, but then got pulled of the shelves, figuratively. The reason is, I guess this version was causing problems, but the iPhone Dev ... continued »

iPhoneApplicationList.com SOLD!

by James Allan Brady on October 12, 2007

I wonder where you go to get your eRealtors license? Regardless, SHAPE Services have bought the aforementioned website. SHAPE is the company that made the IM+ IM app for a bunch of different platforms, that’s ok, I’ve never heard of them or it either. I guess they made some money from it though, you might also recognize them as the ones who made the Skype for iPhone web based app. continued »

Apple multi-touch devices’ ramdisk’s decrypted

by James Allan Brady on October 12, 2007

So to the simple-minded like myself, what does this mean? It means they are close to an unlock for 1.1.1. They are also working towards some sort of a solution for the numerous bricks out there. We have already reported the fact that iPhoneSIMFree already has a solution, and that it already fixes your bricked products, so if you have the dough, I’d still recommend using their product since it seems ... continued »

iPhone so successful other manufacturers looking to replicate

by James Allan Brady on October 12, 2007

There are some bees buzzing around and they say that ASUS, BenQ, and maybe even LG and Samsung are all looking to make touch-interface based handsets for next year. The sad part is, most of them are looking to use the latest version of Windows Mobile. Samsung is pondering a Symbian or other custom OS, but still might go with WM6. All of the companies are looking to up the ante ... continued »

Safari useable on your bricked or otherwise unactivated iPhone

by James Allan Brady on October 11, 2007

Somehow you are able to use your iPhone’s contact list to access the web. There are 9 steps all of which involve only the iPhone, no computer necessary, and then you are sort of able to surf the web with Safari and your selected WiFi network. It involves a lot of iPhone freezes, so if your preciously pricey device freezing up makes you queezy, I wouldn’t attempt it. Basically though, it ... continued »

Rumor: iPhone Firmware version 1.1.2 already in use internally

by James Allan Brady on October 11, 2007

The streets are talking and they say that Apple might already be using the next firmware on their display models. So what’s so wrong with 1.1.1 that they wouldn’t want it used on their display models? It really does kind of make you wonder. However if this is true, that means that the next firmware update, if its this version, won’t brick your iPhone again because this rumor was floating around ... continued »
