by Vincent Nguyen on July 31, 2007

Now this was a pleasant surprise, I noticed that all my folders in setup on my Exchange account were suddenly populated. And when I go into each of those folders, my emails started populating. It’s now even possible to save emails to any of those folders. I didn’t see anyway to create or delete a folder though. Shrug, oh well. Update: Maybe I'm second guessing myself, but prior to ... continued »

iPhone Firmware 1.01 security update (I got an error)

by Vincent Nguyen on July 31, 2007

Apple just released the iPhone Firmware 1.01 security update that plugs various holes in Safari. This is only a security update with no new features that I can find. On the plus side, it will make your iPhone much more secure. Remember that you must sync your iPhone via iTunes in order to get the update. iPhone firmware hides Radio and other programmes

by Chris Davies on July 31, 2007

I do like a bit of firmware rummaging.  Not on my own part, of course - I'm a bit too OCD to get my hands dirty - but I enjoy reading about the tidbits and curios others turn up while delving through a gadget's guts.  Latest news on the iPhone's unlocked capabilities is sign of five new programmes or widgets, discovered by the iPhoneology crew.   continued »

iPhone look-a-like virtual keyboard for the Nokia N800

by Vincent Nguyen on July 30, 2007

Again, imitation is the best form of flattery. There’s a cleverly written utility for the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet that mimics the on-screen virtual keyboard of the Apple iPhone. It’s written in Python, in case you care; looks really neat. The iPhone-clone keyboard looks and feel similar the real deal but lacks the predictive text algorithm.
