One thing we find particularly useful when we are on the go is the camera on our iPhones camera. Many of times we need to take pictures on the fly with little notice. Carrying a camera around in your pocket all the time is just inconvenient. Griffin has noticed the problem and came up with a solution.

One thing that we still do not understand is, why apple has not allowed and control of the camera other than standard operation. The camera on the iPhone is no good for zooming or taking close up pictures. Griffin has created a case that has an optional lens. While you may have doubts about such an accessory, this one makes you believe. You can take shots normal without the lens, then for close shots just slide the lens into place with very little effort.
The Clarifi is not a zoom lens, but a lens designed to boost your resolution. Taking close up pictures can not be achieved, but overall resolution and color is improved. You can now snap pictures of text clearly without any trouble. Without Clarifi the iPhone requires 18 inches to focus, with Clarifi all you need is 4. You can purchase the Clarifi right now directly from Griffin for #34.99.

This is why I am so excited about the G1 and its open source OS. It’s awesome that they’ve opened it up to developers. I can’t wait to see what’s in store.
