Now that we’ve known about the iPhone for a little while, we’ve also had some time to scratch our head and wonder about some of the details. Thankfully we’ve had a leaked memo help us along, as well as a few statements from AT&T representatives to help us along.

Industry analysts have also been hard at work this past week, estimating that Apple is getting $325 from AT&T for each iPhone 3G sold, and coming up with a bill of material for the new phone. They’ve also predicted twice the demand over the original iPhone, though not so much in Japan.

Already we’ve seen some of the first cases announced from ezGear, even though we’re still a few weeks out from launch. Citrix has also announced their new remote capabilities that they will be offering to iPhone users. We also had a chance to take a sneak peek at the upcoming App Store, which should launch around the same time as the new iPhone 3G.

Apple has finally settled that pesky lawsuit concerning their Visual Voicemail, though no specific details were given. There are still plenty of unanswered questions such as whether or not we’ll ever get Flash, most of which we’ll hopefully learn the answers to in the coming weeks.

It has been an interesting week. This week has not been as fast paced for rumors as usual, as it seems that things have slowed down, as people are now waiting it silence for June 9th. Though the rumors are not much in volume, they more than make up for it in how interesting they are.

A freight of ocean containers arrived on shore this week. The containers are from Apple’s manufacturing partners across the seas. The containers were marked ‘electric computer’. Apple’s Macs are traditionally market with the customs label ‘desktop computer’. The rumor is these containers have over 1.7 million 3G iPhones in them. Since everyone else is guessing, I threw in mine as well. I think that ‘electric computer’ sounds a lot more like a Mac tablet than an iPhone, just me?

We all know that the 3G iPhone will be fast, thanks to the HSPA networks set up across the world. We don’t know how fast though. How does 42mbps down and 22mbps up sound? That would be how fast it would be if the device has HSPA+, the fastest revision of HSPA. If it does, it will be the first general market device ever that has the HSPA+ ability.

Location based services are compatible with the current iPhone, even with its lack of GPS. Cell site triangulation works relatively well. Geo tagging is a capability that more and more devices are getting. It tags images taken with the device with your current location for when you share them. The latest iPhone firmware was discovered to have this option.

We saw a beta version of WinPwn about a month back. The official version of utility was finally released recently though. The tool allows custom firmwares to be loaded onto the device. For example, you can build a firmware with the device pre unlocked, and loaded with your settings and favorite firmware. Somewhat similar to cooking custom ROMs for Windows Mobile.

We finish out the week in review with the rumor that the 3G iPhone launches at WWDC. We have all heard the rumors of it, and it is assumed that the device would surely launch then. Gizmodo says that they have sources that have 100% confirmed the June 9th launch.

This week started off slow as far as iPhone news, but by the end of the week, things had picked up considerably. A very interesting piece of information was found in the Network.plist file of the latest beta of iPhone firmware 2.0. The option to toggle 3G on and off. It is suggested that the preference will not show up on EDGE only devices, and that is what we would figure.

The ongoing flip flopping of the AT&T free WiFi continues. This is the second time the free WiFi has been pulled. AT&T is saying that the listing on their website showing the WiFi access was a human error. This is the 4th human error then apparently. When will the craziness end?

There is some serious iPhone shortages going around the last few days. There are no iPhones left in the U.K. or the online Apple store. The shortage is rumored to be Apple preparing for the 3G iPhone by clearing the shelves of the current stock.

Pictures of what is rumored to be the 3G iPhone surfaced on a phone forum based in China. In th photos, the device is glossy white, as opposed to the rumored glossy black. The device fits the description of the rumored dimensions. It is larger in the middle than at the sides, and the bottom is redesigned to fit the rumored dimensions.

The 5th beta of the iPhone SDK was released this week. It was not immediately known what improvements there were, but we have a small list now. Some of the new features that were found include the option for push email. It is the smallest SDK yet, weighing in at only 1.08GB. There were some minor changes to certain libraries as well.

We round out the week in review with the news of the Installer application getting an update. The update brings application search to Installer. Although as of now the search function needs a little improvement, it is a good idea and is very useful.

It’s that time again. Sunday morning can mean only one thing, week in review. This week has been full of 3G iPhone rumors, new software, and even a new Goldstriker iPhone. While it has not been a terribly active week for iPhone news, there is still some exciting things that have gone down. Hold tight while we update you on the last week for iPhone Buzz.

As far as software goes on the iPhone, Sun discussed porting Java to the iPhone. According to the CEO of Sun Microsystems, Jonathan Schwartz, Java will be in the future of the iPhone. He noted that there are no technical problems getting Java ported, however there could be some problems with Apple’s EULA. Either way, he seems optimistic about the process.

Java is not the only software related news that came about this weekend. McAfee’s anti virus software for the iPhone was leaked. At first, it seemed the software was a fake, and was not made by McAfee. It was later shown that it was software by McAfee, but it was a proof of concept. The official word is they do not yet know if they will bring this software to the iPhone. They did say they are pleased with the community reaction.

The folks at Goldstriker are up to it again. This time with a Lamborghini themed iPhone. The device itself is a 16GB iPhone, running with 1.1.4 firmware. I don’t know, I kind of like it. Maybe a little over the top, but hey, you only live once. The price tag on this special edition iPhone is just under $1500.

A image of what is rumored to be the 3G iPhone surfaced this week. The device, actually bears resemblance to the LG Vu on AT&T. The back looks very scuffed up. Why allow the hottest discussed device to get all messed up like that? It seems very unlikely, that this is the new iPhone. The photo is at the top of this post; you decide!.

It is also rumored that the specifications and dimensions of the new iPhone have been leaked to accessory manufacturers. This is not confirmed, but it is possible. It makes sense, as then the new iPhone would have all sorts of cases and accessories at launch. I guess we will know for sure when the device launches. Until then, unless a manufacturer steps up and says this is true and can prove it, this one is done.

Apple fans in Canada finally have something to get excited over. The iPhone will be making it’s way to Rogers by the end of the year. This information comes right from Ted Rogers, the president and CEO of he carrier. All that was said is “it is coming”, and to “stay tuned”. Details are very few at the moment. In reality, only Apple and Rogers know for sure.

Unless you have been living under a rock the last few months, then you know that the 3G iPhone is one of the single hottest news items being discussed right now. This week is no different. One rumor of it may offer a little light at the end of the tunnel though. The 3G version of the BlackBerry has been pushed back. The reason is not confirmed, but the BlackBerry was supposed to launch in June. Some are speculating the delay is due to AT&T not wanting to launch two competing devices at the same time.

A new feature was unlocked for the iPhone this week, the ability to record videos. DreamCatcher has brought their recording application to the iPhone. The feature is much sought after in iPhone circles. DreamCatcher is not bringing this service to the iPhone for nothing though, and is going to be charging $20 for the application.

iPhone developers were treated to a pleasant surprise, when the iPhone SDK beta 4 was released earlier in the week. The new SDK brings OpenGL ES functionality to the included iPhone emulator, which was a much requested improvement asked of Apple by the developers. Apple also took the opportunity to release a new build of the 2.0 firmware beta, called build 5A258f.

This week we also found out that not only can can images be saved from Safari with the new firmware, but so can images sent through email. The feature was discovered right here on iPhone Buzz by Vincent. It works in much the same way as saving images from safari, you hold your finger over an image in the email for a moment, and then you are presented with an option to save the image.

Finally, after much speculation it turned out that the supposed black 3G iPhone photo well-circulated during the past few weeks is, in fact, simply a case for the current handset. Still, apparent confirmation (as if anything is ever confirmed until Steve Jobs announces it to be the case!) of the upcoming device having 3G, GPS and more should make up for any photograph disappointment.

It has been an exciting week for us Apple fans. iPhone Buzz gave you a first look at iPhone Firwmare 2.0 beta. We walked you through some of the exciting new features Apple has included in the new firmware, like saving images directly from Safari, and setting up Exchange Support.

Across the seas, we saw some interesting news as well. The iPhone saw a £100($196) drop in price. This is supposedly in preparation of the 3G iPhone. In India, the it was revealed the iPhone is coming to India on Vodafone. While we are talking about foreign lands, we gave you tips on how to take your iPhone with you when you travel abroad

In software news, we saw the release of several promising applications for the iPhone. Including the First VoIP application for the iPhone, Fring. Another sweet applications we saw was Feeds, an RSS reader for the iPhone, that syncs with Google Reader. Windows users had something to get excited over, as the Pwnage Tool for Windows was released in beta form.

As for iPhone accessories, we got a first look at the Mophie Juice Pack. Mophie claims it can increase battery life on the iPhone by up to 250 additional standby hours.

The past week was one of the best iPhone coverage since its announcement back on January 9, 2007. We ran news, rumors and reports on a number items ranging from surveys, to rumors of a firmware for the iPod to give it an iPhone-like Cover Flow. Then there are a number of articles around the Goldman Sachs Technology Investment Symposium where Tim Cook iterated Apple’s objective to sell 10M iPhone in 2008.

There was also a survey that showed some consumers aren’t willing to pay $500 for the iPhone, while Stanly Morgan increased its projection for the number of iPhone sales to hit 8M for 2007, based on a proprietary survey.

Other odds and end iPhone news and rumors included the first ever iPhone ad aired on the Oscars, Apple is still planning on releasing the iPhone Bluetooth headset, Tim Cook stating “free phones are worthless,” and how can we forget the doubleshot casing patent awarded to Apple – which is currently being used on the Zune.

The biggest story to hit My iPhone is definitely the JAJAH VoIP for the iPhone. While it’s not a true VoIP solution in a sense, it’s a cheaper solution for those needing to make international calls.

In other remix articles, Meizu picked the perfect week to announce prices for the miniOne. Price starts at $195 for the 4GB model without a camera while the 8GB will cost $285. Add a camera to the miniOne and you’re looking at a price tag of $310 for the 4GB and $400 for the 8GB. I have to admit; the miniOne is going to be one of the best iPhone clones to be release later this year, in terms of form, function and price.

The video below is one of the best iPhone skins for the Pocket PC – ever. It’s so damn good that Apple had the original copy yanked from Youtube. Download the iPhone skin for Wisbar Advance here.

This past week was exceptionally great for everyone except Cisco. Apple and Cisco announced they would share the mark iPhone, allowing Apple to freely use it whenever and wherever they see fit.

Don’t forget to watch out for an iPhone teaser ad on the Oscars later tonight.

A small study conducted by online research firm Compete Inc. revealed some consumers thinks the price of the iPhone is too high and won’t be buying it. Of the 26% of respondents who said they’re likely to buy an iPhone, only 1 % said they’d pay $500 for it.

My iPhone conducted its own poll asking visitors to the site if they are willing to pay $500/$600 for the iPhone. Of the 249 responses, 67% said no, 24% said yes and 9% said they’re still on the fence. A second poll asking 194 visitors if they are willing to switch to AT&T for the iPhone revealed an overwhelming no (42%), while 23% said yes, 7% said they will switch to AT&T when their contract runs out, and 27% said they will switch if the price of the iPhone is between $299 and $300.

A rumor around the blogosphere reported the iPhone showing its face at CeBIT 2007.

Then there was that fake AT&T pricing plan. It got a lot people’s hopes, which turned out to be either totally bogus or simply a survey conducted by Pinecone Research.

The future of next generation user interface is here. Meizu miniOne’s top dog admitted to copying the iPhone’s design. Two more iPhone clones showed their face – called Mobile EM ONE and Teclast T59. Check back tomorrow for a My iPhone exclusive reporting a whole new user interface you’ve probably never seen before.

Finally, I want to thank everyone for supporting My iPhone. Please continue to show your support by registering as a member of My iPhone community and contribute to it.
