The iPhone 5 hype is building to a fevered pitch lately with more rumors that you can shake a stick at. Today a photo that was supposedly taken using an iPhone 5 camera has surfaced. The photo apparently hints it was taken with an iPhone 4. However, the EXIF data doesn't match that.

A new iPhone app has landed called Meal Snap iPhone for DailyBurn. It helps those that are dieting to get an estimated calorie count by snapping a picture of the meal and giving them a range of calories.

A rendering of what is supposed to be a case for the coming iPhone 5 has surfaced. The design, if accurate, looks to be the same as the iPhone 4 today so no major outward changes are to be seen.

A new rumor has surfaced that claims the next iPhone will get a metal back and will have an Apple antenna logo. We have seen a patent app in the past that showed the tech to hide the antenna behind the logo.

Verizon tried to woo early adopters of the iPhone on its network by offering up an unlimited $30 monthly unlimited data plan for the smartphone. Verizon CFO Fran Shammo noted at an investor conference that the unlimited plan was not a long-term solution hinting it would be ending.

Scosche unveiled the new flipSYNC II at CES a few weeks back. It has announced that the iPhone and iPad specific version of the cable is now available for about $20; the new versions have full size connectors.

Over the weekend, the App Store hit the 10 billion mark and Apple called up the winner to give them the $10,000 gift card. The mom of the girl who downloaded the winning app hung up on Apple. An exec later called back to award the card.

New research by a company called Zokem has shown that the most satisfying smartphone is the iPhone. The study also found that Android users are more likely to stick with the platform when buying a new phone though.

A new Apple patent application has surfaced that shows a new sensor that may come to future iPhones that can sense when people hover over the device. The sensor would apparently be on the back and what exactly it would be used for is unknown, perhaps hover navigation using a finger?
