T-Mobile doesn’t officially sell the iPhone on its network, but has more than 1 million unlocked iPhones operating on its networks despite the fact. The catch is that the unlocked iPhones operating on the T-Mobile network don’t work that well according to most users. The reason is that the iPhones operating on the network only have access to T-Mobile’s old 2G network, because they lack the support for T-Mobile’s 3G spectrum.

The good news for iPhone users on T-Mobile is that the carrier is planning to improve the support for iPhones starting on January 30, which is today. The carrier is adding a special iPhone support page, which will help iPhone users that need assistance. Alas, the phones was still be only 2G capable. Last week Samsung saw its second 3G patent suit against Apple rejected by the courts.

The suit in question was in German courts, the judge Andreas Voss rejected Samsung claims without a clear explanation of why. I would imagine Apple doesn’t really care why, it’s just glad the claims are rejected. I doubt this is the last time we hear of lawsuits between Samsung and Apple.

The ITC ruling in the patent infringement case Apple brought against HTC for allegedly using its patents has been delayed again. There is no indication from the ITC why the ruling has been delayed for a second time.

A new jailbreak has landed called redsn0w, then there were some issues, and it was rolled back a bit.

Kodak has announced that it has filed two suits against Apple. One of the suits is alleged patent infringement on tech used for digital image previews and the second is for computer related tech. RIM is also in the digital imaging suit.

Computerworld reckons that the location-based search Google recently launched is a big deal. The big feature is that the data is updated in real time whereas other services like Yelp are not.

Apple is making tons of money with the App Store by anyone’s measure. However, Apple is reportedly losing lots of money to piracy of apps to the tune of $450 million with three pirated app downloads to each paid download.

The NYT is now blaming the iPhone for the woes on the AT&T network. The story is even more suspect when you find that the main source of the info is a paid AT&T consultant.

Apple has filed a counter suit against Nokia after Nokia filed suit against Apple over patent licensing fees. Apple alleges that Nokia is trying to overcharge on patent fees because it “missed the boat” and chose to “copy the iPhone.”

The Guardian has announced the launch of its official iPhone app. The app lets you download content to listen too later and allows personalization along with access to picture galleries and more. The app isn’t free though and costs $3.99 here in the US.

I have lamented the fact that AT&T lacks MMS support for the iPhone here in America on a few occasions. The lack of MMS isn’t Apple’s fault, it has offered the capability for a while now, and AT&T is simply blocking the feature as it is blocking tethering.

Some iPhone users are tired of waiting for MMS support on their iPhones and have decided to take matters into their own hands and have filed suit against AT&T and Apple. A pair of class action lawsuits has been filed against AT&T and Apple over the lack of MMS support for the iPhone.

The first lawsuit was filed in the Southern District of Illinois by Tim Meeker and he claims that AT&T and Apple misrepresented the facts about iPhone support for MMS. The other suit was filed in the Eastern District of Louisiana and is almost identical to the Meeker suit. AT&T has said that MMS would be coming sometime this summer, which is almost over now.
