iPhone spreads across the globe

The iPhone is spreading across the globe, according to the latest monthly report from AdMob. The report revealed that users from countries other than U.S. is increasingly growing.

The report found that

54% of iPhone and iPod touch users worldwide in June were in the U.S., down from 61% in January. This signals that international adoption has picked up since then, although the U.S. still has by far the biggest proportion of users of any country.

In another news, Apple’s recently announced that it increased iPhone sales by a whopping 636%.

Apple doubles iPhone market share

The newest data from research firm Gartner shows that Apple’s share of global smartphone market more than double on a year-over-year basis during the first quarter of the year –grew from 5.3 percent to 10.8 percent and (in term of unit sales) jumped from 1.7 million to 3.9 million.

While the quarter’s iPhone achievement may be impressive, but they should hard working to catching up Nokia (despite the Finnish phone maker’s market share drops almost 4 percent, from 45.1 percent to 41.2 percent, but Nokia remains the world’s No. 1 smartphone maker) and BlackBerry maker Research In Motion (rises from 13.3 percent to 19.9 percent).

Global mobile phone sales totaled 269.1 million units in 1Q of 2009, a 9.4 percent decrease; while smartphone sales surpassed 36.4 million units, a 12.7 percent increase from the same period last year.

iPhone apps make $400 to $5,000 per day

AdWhirl, formerly known as Adrollo and serves 250 million ad impressions of the top 50 Apps in the App Store monthly, revealed the success of some of the top ad-supported iPhone apps.

AdWhirl says that top apps can make $400 to $5,000 per day on ads, averaging an effective CPM (cost per 1,000 impressions) near $2. (That sounds terrible compared to a good Web site, but it’s better than Facebook or MySpace apps.)

iPhone most searched online

A recent study found that 29.4% of all online searches for consumer electronics among UK Internet users were mobile phones. According to web traffic analysts at Hitwise, Apple’s iPhone leads the Top 5 most-searched gadget brands, with Nokia grabbing second place.

Since the iPhone’s launch, it has apparently remained at or near the top of the list of most searched consumer electronics. The iPhone has only been temporarily overtaken by new “it” products like the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.

The list of Top 5 most-searched gadget brands is dominated by Apple, with Finnish phone-giant Nokia grabbing second place with half as many searches. The only other mobile phone maker to break into the Top 5 was Samsung. Still, it should be noted that Nokia was the only dedicated mobile phone vendor to break into the Top 5 list.

iPhone tops mobile web searches

iPhone rules! Thanks to its user-friendly browsing interface, iPhone has been the preferred mobile device for web searching activities, according to a report.

The Apple iPhone was the source of more mobile Web searches in February than all other mobile and wireless devices combined, according to a report from Net Applications.

While phones running the Google Android operating system and Research In Motion’s BlackBerry devices have made some gains, iPhones dominated the marketplace with 66 percent of all searches, according the report. Java ME, which is installed in a number of handsets, including those from Nokia, ranked a deep second, with 9.11 percent of searches.
