Sony CEO Sir Howard Stinger has let slip that Apple is ordering 8MP camera sensors from Sony for the iPhone 5. Naturally, Apple has offered no comment on the statement.

A dude played a awesome prank on his wife for April Fools. He changed his name on her iPhone to AP Mobile and then sent her a text saying the Pentagon had confirmed the Roswell crash was of alien origin.

A new jailbreak tool is available for iPhone 4 and Apple TV users. The Pwnage Tool will unlock the devices for third party software and other hacks.

Apple is rumored to be working on an improvement for the notifications in iOS for the next go round. The rumor comes by way of sources at Cult of Mac that claim Apple is buying a small app firm to help it create the new notification system.

Sony is hinting that it might remove its music from the iTunes store. The rumor claims that Sony will instead offer its tracks via its coming Music Unlimited store. I simply don’t see this working at all, that would make Sony music unavailable on the largest digital music store around.

Target offered an iPhone trade-in program over the weekend that some folks took advantage of. The deal offered users a $100 or $200 credit towards an AT&T iPhone 4 with the trade in of an iPhone 3G or 3GS.

I have an alarm clock for my iPhone, the only catch is that it seems to be unable to fully charge my new iPhone 3GS while it worked perfectly for my original iPhone. This has me on the market for a new clock that will work with my iPhone 3GS. Sony has unveiled a new ICF-CL75iP alarm clock that looks really cool.

The device is a bit pricy at $150, but it has 1GB of internal storage for music or video files, a 7-inch 800 x 480 LCD, and a dock that retracts for more nightstand space when you aren’t docked. The clock can wake you up to AM/FM, iPhone, nature sounds, or a ten second voice recording of your choice.

That is a huge screen and some night the orange LCD display of my current clock is too much light, I wonder if the screen can be turned off. I bet you can sue the thing like a digital picture frame too with that internal storage.

Sony best Apple with five-finger MultiTouch display

Sony has taken Apple’s two-fingered MultiTouch and raised them to five, meaning that we could soon see devices from the Japanese giant that recognise all the digits of a user’s hand. Unlike the Apple system, as featured on the iPhone and the iPod Touch, which can track either one finger for selection or dragging, or two fingers for zooming control, the Sony LCD panel is an identical size (3.5-inches) but is able to differentiate between up to five different points of contact or, alternatively, a stylus.

The panel – which as yet has not been fingered for any particular device in Sony’s catalogue, but could form the basis of an upgrade to the Sony Ericsson P1 range of touchscreen smartphones – also improves on Apple’s already impressive resolution; full VGA 640 x 480 as opposed to the iPhone’s 480 x 320.
