A second beta release of iPhone Software 3.0 is being released with the essential Push Notification Service. The release is being labeled iPhone OS BETA 2 build 7A259.

Main factors are the server side for the Push Notifications feature will be opened gradually to developers. Push Notifications are Apple’s way to have Apps keeping track of changes in the background. Apple is not doing real background processes because of battery life concerns. Technical information will reportedly appear in a App Store Kit reference guide. More detailed information on how to build in-app purchasing functionality into their existing or future applications.

It has been reported that BETA 2 of the iPhone 3.0 OS is running faster than BETA 1. A few bugs seen previously have also been fixed. Another series of changes were reportedly documented alongside the release of a new version of the iPhone SDK also released Tuesday. Some specific components that received attention were GameKit, Bluetooth, MapKit, Fonts, the messaging user interface and text fields.

The iPhone 3G will soon be coming to Russia now that Mobile TeleSystems and Apple have reached an agreement. Phones will go on sale starting in October, but the specific release date is not known at this moment.

This isn’t a big shocker considering Steve Jobs said that a carrier agreement with Russia would happen by the end of the year. MTS has also confirmed that talks were held with Apple over the agreement.

At this point in time, it is not known whether or not the agreement will be exclusive. But it does seem that Apple is fulfilling its goals of spreading the iPhone across the globe before the end of the year.

As the iPhone 3G is released across the world, it comes as no surprise that we’d start to see countries with multiple carries. And that’s precisely what’s happened in Turkey.

Vodafone announced that it will distributed the iPhone in Turkey several weeks ago, but now it seems Turkcell is hot on their heels. Turkcell is the country’s largest provider. They currently have 35.4 million customers.

When can Turkish residents expect the iPhone? No release date has been provided yet and pricing is still a mystery as well. All we known at the moment is Turkcell will be offering up the iPhone sometime later this year for both prepaid and subscription customers. This will no doubt spread the iPhone’s availability across the country bringing in new customers.

After a successful launch, Apple has not stopped wooing carriers. The latest mills is iPhone 3G might land in South Korea. Apple’s own website revealed a job opening for “Korean iPhone Account Manager” – located in Seoul, South Korea’s capital city.

The country is the home of two mobile phone powerhouses, Samsung and LG. Korean seems to be very loyal to its home based company and have very advanced wireless connectivity; that pose some threat to how well iPhone 3G will fit in with only data transfer up to 3.6Mbps.

None or less, iPhone 3G has been proven to be a success in advanced wireless country such as Japan. I’m willing to bet that it will be the same for Korean market due to it well developed touch technology and OS.
