Samsung landed a sales injunction in Germany against Apple products having to do with patents for 3G tech Samsung holds. The result is Apple has been forced to pull its products using 3G technology from its German online store.

Rumors are swirling that the iPhone 5 may be revealed in June. If true, the phone will surface for the first time at WWDC.

T-Mobile doesn’t officially sell the iPhone on its network, but has more than 1 million unlocked iPhones operating on its networks despite the fact. The catch is that the unlocked iPhones operating on the T-Mobile network don’t work that well according to most users. The reason is that the iPhones operating on the network only have access to T-Mobile’s old 2G network, because they lack the support for T-Mobile’s 3G spectrum.

The good news for iPhone users on T-Mobile is that the carrier is planning to improve the support for iPhones starting on January 30, which is today. The carrier is adding a special iPhone support page, which will help iPhone users that need assistance. Alas, the phones was still be only 2G capable. Last week Samsung saw its second 3G patent suit against Apple rejected by the courts.

The suit in question was in German courts, the judge Andreas Voss rejected Samsung claims without a clear explanation of why. I would imagine Apple doesn’t really care why, it’s just glad the claims are rejected. I doubt this is the last time we hear of lawsuits between Samsung and Apple.

In the future, there may be a new way of logging into your Apple gear like the iPhone or iPad. Apple has filed a patent app that outlines a way that the gadgets could log different users in using presence detection and face detection reports PatentlyApple. The cool part is that you could have multiple accounts on the devices and would need to do nothing to log into your account.

The patent has some snazzy line art with a stick figure walking up to the gadget. It outlines that the detection would look at skin tone, location of eyes and mouth compared to a reference image, and match the face with one in an image.

The presence detection could turn the device on as soon as you walk up. Together the device would turn itself off and on and log you into your user account just by you walking up to it. That sounds really cool.

Reports that the iPhone is tracking the user’s location have raised some serious privacy concerns for consumers. Reports claim that the iPhone and Android devices regularly send location data back to Apple and Google.

A rumor is making the rounds that claims Apple has been sending a new prototype of the iPhone with a faster processor around to game developers. According to the rumor, the phone is a 4S prototype and uses the A5 processor Apple makes.

Kee Utility has started to ship its interesting Desk Phone Dock for the iPhone.
Being able to buy the iPhone in more stores is a good thing when you are trying to find the smartphone. The iPhone is headed to Target and Sam’s Club soon with the device being one of the first in the Target mobile phone center.

Crowds gathered in China at China Unicom locations as the iPad officially launched with the carrier. The customers were also able to pre-order the iPhone 4 at the same time if they wanted.

A juror in a court case in Florida wasn’t sure of the definition of the word “prudent” used during a murder trial. The man apparently used his iPhone to look up the definition and the act of looking up that word was enough for a mistrial because jurors are not supposed to consider information from outside the courtroom in their decision.
