In the Chinese section of IFA there is a portable media player that has been produced that had a very strong resemblance to the iPhone, but its smaller. So there is really no way in hell it could be an iPhone Nano.

However, it does look very much like the iPhone, save for the giant “MP4 Player” sticker across the top and some retarded looking joystick type of thing at the bottom. So yes, the product is real, no its not an iPhone Nano, although that could be one of the announcements on Wednesday, I doubt it, but at an Apple event, it’s like McDonalds’ “Hey, it could happen” slogan.

Just to let you all know though, SlashGear will be live-blogging from the Apple event on Wednesday, so if there is anything to know about, we will be the ones bringing it to you. So just as soon as Steve drops the big bomb on the whole line of new products or updates the current ones or whatever that crazed maniac is going to do, check by here or SlashGear and we will have the deets for you.

The poor blended iPhone might have thought its future would be boring after getting thoroughly chopped up in a Blendtec “Will It Blend?” promotion, but with an on-off eBay sale following the powdery smartphone has stayed in the headlines. As you might remember, bids for the ground handset – as well as a Blendtec blender, DVD and signed t-shirt – reached around $1170 before eBay mysteriously pulled it. Now the auction is back, and we now know why they fell foul of the strict rulebook.

Turns out, Blendtec didn’t adequately indicate the condition of the iPhone in the auction title. “Apple iPhone and Blendtec Total Blender” isn’t good enough; “Blended Apple iPhone and a Blendtec Total Blender” is.

So, just in case you’re behind one of the 28 bids its already garnered – taking the price, as of writing, up to $787.77 – let’s be clear. You won’t need to pass a credit check to use this iPhone, and battery life won’t be an issue. That’s because it’s dust.

I’m an avid reader of Penny Arcade. If you haven’t ever read it, you might consider stopping by and having a read. Though if you don’t care for a a comic about a couple of foul-mouthed guys talking about tech and games, then it might not be for you. The iPhone was big enough that it merited not one, but two separate comics on the subject.

The first one came out on launch day, and depicted what many of us felt like doing, and it would have worked, had we only gotten the idea to join the ranks of Apple a year ago.

The second came out on Monday that very much captured the woes over the lack of 3G in the phone with the toils of being in line for a long period of time.

All humor aside, the Surface is a revolutionary product that shows us just how important touchscreens are going to be in the future. With a hefty price like $10,000 we probably won’t see these popping up all over the place, but I think it shows us where technology is headed.

The future is here. It’s not an iPhone, it’s a big-ass table. Take that Apple.
