iMessage bug, Google hires Apple worker, switching between the iPhone 4S and Android

Over the last few days, there’s been a lot of talk about a flaw in iMessage that allows people to spy on your text messaging. If you want all the details on the not so easy to exploit glitch, check get it here.

Google has successfully wooed Apple’s Simon Prakash come work for it, marking the highest level Apple employee to leave to work for Google yet. Prakash was Apple senior director for project integrity and at this point, it’s not clear exactly what he will be doing for Google.

Verizon iPhone 4 pre-order for all, Google translate app, EA app sale

The Verizon iPhone 4 has gone on pre-order for everyone and you better order fast. The phone sold out on the first Verizon customer only pre-order in only a few hours.

Google has offered the Translate app for the iPhone. The app will let you type in whatever text you want to translate and then it will turn it into other languages. You can say the phrases into the app and have them translated too.

EA is having a big sale on its games in the App store. A bunch of its cool games are offered for 99 cents including Madden NFL 11 and a lot more.

App Store hits 300K Active apps, PayPal iPhone security fix, Google Instant beta

Apple has announced that the App Store has now hit the 300,000 active apps milestone. The average number of new apps released each month since April is 12,218 on the iPhone and 5,452 on the iPad.

PayPal is reportedly rushing a security patch to iPhone users of the PayPal application. The patch fixes an issue that could allow a hacker to intercept the user’s password.

Google Instant is now in beta for most iPhone users. The beta means you don’t have to hit the search key, Google will just start looking for what you type.

iTunes subscription service, MagSafe for iPhone 5 rumors, visual search for iPhone

One of the things that I and many other users of the iPhone and iPod music players have long wanted is a subscription music service. According to new rumors, floating around Apple may be in talks with record labels for just such an offering at $10 to $15 monthly.

Rumors are circulating that the iPhone 5 and iPad 2 may get the MagSafe power connectors that the MacBook notebooks use. This would be a great thing for the portable devices since the cable would unplug if the device were dropped rather than possibly damaging the charge port.

Google has releases a new visual search tool for the iPhone. The only catch is that the visual search app requires the user be running the latest OS, once installed users can take photos of items, and Google will search for information on the item in the photo.

iPhone HD frames turn up, Skype to cost on iPhone, Bing to be default search on next iPhone?

Another leak of the frames from what is claimed to be the iPhone HD or 4G has turned up online. The frames look much like the ones in the Gizmodo leak and you can see the frames for yourself at SlashGear.

That new Skype app for the iPhone lets you make VoIP calls over the 3G network right now. The catch is that once you are hooked Skype plans to start charging users for that ability in 2011.

Rumors are going around that when the new iPhone is debuted Google will no longer be the default search engine. According to the rumors, Bing will be replacing Google on the new device.

Apple approves Opera Mini, no upgrades for original iPhone, Google references gone from iPhone OS

The only announcement that could have surprised me more than Apple approving Opera Mini for the iPhone would be Apple supporting Flash. I really expected Opera to be blocked, it will be cool to have an alternative browser.

Steve Jobs has reportedly responded to a message sent from a user of the original iPhone telling the person that future updates won’t support the original iPhone. Jobs said at the iPhone OS 4.0 event that the old iPhone would no longer be supported.

Apple has removed all references to Google from its iPhone OS according to reports. Things may soon be looking up for Bing and its default iPhone search dreams.

iPhone dev agreement placeholder, Google grabs most iPhone web traffic, AT&T promises better iPhone service

Eagle eyed developers have noticed that the iPhone developers agreement has been changed with a placeholder referencing the event today. We only have a while to wait before we find out what Apple has up its sleeves.

A report has surfaced that shows the majority of the web traffic generated by the iPhone goes to Google. Non-search traffic is 48.05% and Yahoo grabs 1.24%. I wonder if a change to Bing by Apple would greatly affect these numbers.

AT&T has promised to improve the service for iPhone users in America. It had better, the announcement of a Verizon iPhone is widely expected for today.

Bing may replace Google, OS 4.0 features leak, White House app

Apparently, Apple and Microsoft are in talks to see Bing replace Google as the default search provider for the iPhone. Whether or not this will actually happen is unknown at this time.

Some details about features in the iPhone OS 4.0 have been outed. The new update will offer multi-touch gestures OS wide, new ways to run apps in background, and graphical and UI changes among others.

Everyone is getting into the iPhone app market today it seems, including the White House. A new app has been announced that will let users watch live streaming broadcasts of public events at the White House like the State of the Union address.
