Facebook has submitted ver. 3.0 of iPhone application to Apple, according to Joe Hewitt, software engineer at Facebook, through his tweet. The latest version will offer a bunch of features that enable us to optimize our Facebook account on the go.

Facebook for iPhone 3.0 is coming very soon, adding some more cool features like Events listings, Notes, Pages, and photo albums. But, according to Joe Hewitt, lead engineer for Facebook’s iPhone application, Push Notifications is in development but it won't make it into 3.0 -- so we should wait until the next update later this summer.

Electronic Arts' iPhone version of Scrabble now supports Facebook Connect, enabling users to play head-to-head against anyone on either Facebook or the iPhone/iPod touch. The Scrabble update is free, available to users who already purchased the $5 application.

Facebook on Saturday finally launched the new Facebook Connect for iPhone at the SXSW in Austin, TX. First announced last July, Facebook Connect for iPhone does similar functions like the PC version, allowing Facebook users to login to affiliated sites and share with their Facebook friends.

It looks like a Cocoa framework will come out during the fall for the iPhone that allows developers to work with Facebook Connect.
