A patent from Apple has offered a glimpse at the future features for the iPhone and other Apple devices. The AirPlay and AirPrint features will add printing from the iPhone and the ability to wirelessly connect devices like speakers and docks to the iPhone.

Crowds gathered in China at China Unicom locations as the iPad officially launched with the carrier. The customers were also able to pre-order the iPhone 4 at the same time if they wanted.

A juror in a court case in Florida wasn’t sure of the definition of the word “prudent” used during a murder trial. The man apparently used his iPhone to look up the definition and the act of looking up that word was enough for a mistrial because jurors are not supposed to consider information from outside the courtroom in their decision.

A new survey was published yesterday and according to the survey, Brits would rather have their iPhone than a flushing toilet. The iPhone was number eight on a list of 100 items with the flushing toilet at nine. The most important thing was the wheel.

The Wall Street Journal is trying to shed some light on why the iPhone has sold so poorly in China. Folks point to the price, the grey market alternatives and other things, but a survey has shown that the real reason is the unpopular China Unicom carrier.

The number of remote control dongles coming for the iPhone is growing all the time. The latest offering is the FLPR from New Potato Technologies that turns the iPhone or iPod touch into a universal remote. The device will sell for about $80 at Best Buy later this month.

Games are the favorite items on the App Store for many of us. A new report from Mobclix has shown that the App Store now has more eBooks than it has games with 26,500 eBooks on the store.

A China Unicom executive has stated that the mobile carrier hopes that the price of the iPhone in China will come down. The official handset lacks WiFi and is reportedly more expensive than grey market versions offering WiFi.

The South Korean iPhone distributor KT has announced that it expects to sell 500,000 iPhones in its market. The iPhone is set to hit South Korea on November 28.

ZDNet reports that Apple may be considering an ad-supported version of the iPhone. The rumor stems from a patent app that Apple filed for forced advertisements.

China Unicom has seen lackluster sales of the official iPhone in its home market. However, the firm maintains that the iPhone will outsell rivals in the market. That is hard to believe with all the cheaper grey market iPhones on the Chinese market.

The Google Earth iPhone application has been updated with new features. The new version adds support for more languages and lets you customize the maps interface. The version also has enhanced performance and an enhanced icon selection.

Last month a SIM card tray turned up claiming to be for the next version of the iPhone. Today a midboard for the fourth gen iPhone has tipped up. It’s hard to say if these are legit products or nothing more than a way to get attention. The company promises pics of the back cover for the fourth gen iPhone soon.

China Unicom has reported that a paltry 5,000 new subscribers is all that has purchased the iPhone in China since it launched last week. That is really no surprise considering that the official iPhone costs more than grey market devices available in the country with more features.

Intel has released an official comment on the issue that some users are reporting with certain Intel-based systems not synchronizing the iPhone with the latest iTunes version. Intel says that it believes the problem to be with BIOS or system configuration, but it is still investigating.

TomTom officially launched the iPhone Car Kit in the US Apple Store Today. If you want, your own dedicated speaker/windshield mount/GPS antenna for your iPhone the kit will set you back about $200 and ship in a few weeks.

A sexy iPhone concept has turned up that borrows from the styling of the iMac AIO systems. Looking at the concept I certainly like it more than my white iPhone 3GS style.

When those Droid commercials taking pot shots at the iPhone first surfaced, I figured that any chance of the iPhone hitting Verizon was slim. Apparently, Verizon still wants to sell the iPhone and CEO Ivan Seidenburg told analysts that it is just waiting on word from Apple.

China Unicom hopes to steal rival China Mobile’s gray market iPhone users by offering users on its network the ability to buy a service contract with the phone. The gray market iPhones are still much cheaper than the official versions of the scheme isn’t likely to pay off.

Most of us know already that Apple and China Unicom have been in talks to provide the iPhone 3G to the 400 million mobile phone customers in China. Key bits of info were lacking on the initial reports including how much and exactly when the devices would launch.

Yahoo Tech reports that starting in October China Unicom customers will be able to get the iPhone 3G without a contract for 5,000 yuan or about $732.50. That is a lot of money and is almost as much as the average yearly salary in China.

Customers who opt for a contract and qualifying plans will be able to get subsidies on the phone. The subsidies will range from 893 yuan to about 4,253 yuan. The launch of the iPhone 3G will also mark the official launch of the 3G service for the carrier.
