Quantum suit against Apple iPhone squashed
Quantum Research, a developer of capacitive sensors for user interface, officially stated it is not yet filing legal suit against Apple regarding Apple’s iPhone.

I’m not surprised one iota. Remember their terms of agreement with Cingular? Yep. Jobs play hardball with everyone, knocking down every obstacle in his way.
Here are a few random thoughts on this matter. Cisco owns the trademark iPhone – hence has the upper hand. So why roll over to Apple? That’s the six million dollar question.

At this rate, we'll see the iPhone on the market before we hear a resolution to this matter. Then again, you never know, maybe Cisco wants to put it off that long. The stronger the sales, the more they are likely to get out of it if they win.

A letter sent to the FCC from Apple back on October 12tth 2006 has surfaced. Apple requested for numerous documents related to the iPhone to remain confidential. Great find LoopRumors [via World of Apple]!
“…the public disclosure of the above mentioned documents might be harmful to [Apple] and would give a competitor an unfair advantage in the market.â€

Business Wire just released a joint statement:
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Apple and Cisco have agreed to extend the time for Apple to respond to the lawsuit to allow for discussions between the companies with the aim of reaching agreement on trademark rights and interoperability.
