Our cellphone-loving sister site PHONE Magazine has been invited to Apple’s exclusive iPhone SDK Roadmap event today, 10am PST, and will be live-blogging the whole thing at http://live.phonemag.com/ We’re expecting news not only of the SDK – which will finally allow developers to produce official third-party applications for the iPhone and the iPod Touch – but about new “enterprise features” that Apple is promising. Does that mean support for Microsoft Exchange? That’s what the analysts are saying – in fact some believe Apple have been beta testing the corporate push-email over the past few months.

It’s not all good news, though; rumor has it that the SDK – originally promised for February – has been further delayed, and that today will see a beta, not the full thing, released. Plus, there are worrying rumors coming from trusted sources that Apple might be maintaining a whole lot more control over the iPhone’s software and hardware than expected: current thinking is that paid software will need to be validated by the company, and distributed through iTunes (with Apple taking a cut of the profits). There are also doubts regarding how much access to things like the cellphone radio software will be allowed. Jailbreak was meant to be a temporary stop-gap, but it’s starting to look as though it’ll be here to stay!

Join PHONE Magazine at 10am PST (1pm EST or 6pm GMT) for the full announcement, as it happens, at http://live.phonemag.com/!

Over at SlashGear the latest news on Apple’s update to iLife is being picked apart, but what us iPhone lovers will be most interested in is the new integration with our favourite cellphone. Most notable is the iPhoto ’08 software; you’ll find a new “Send to Web Gallery” button on your iPhone – hit that and it’ll automatically email your photo to a preset special address and then the image shows up on your .Mac account.

Meanwhile, any images you upload from your desktop – or are sent by friends and family – are automatically synchronised with your iPhone and the new .Mac Web Studio. You can browse the full gallery on the handset, as well as browse through other people’s galleries too. As Steve says, it’s a “great iPhone experience”!

iMovie is also getting a big upgrade, with the ability to natively handle HD footage and quickly edit it then share it on the .Mac Web Studio. Of course you can output it in DVD quality, direct to the website, but it’ll automatically recode it in an iPhone-friendly resolution when you visit the gallery with your cellphone.

More on iLife ’08 over at SlashGear The iLife ’08 suite is available today for $79, and will ship with all new Macs. The .Mac Web Gallery gives you 1GB of space, but if you’re more storage hungry you can upgrade to 10GB for $99.95/yr.

Well, Vincent is at the Apple Town Hall meeting and first on the agenda is… you guessed it… new iMacs! I hope you’ve been saving, because these beasties look gorgeous and go on sale today: as predicted the 17-incher has gone, making way for new 20 and 24-inch models complete with thinner, aluminium casings and glossy glass screens.

Inside there’s an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU running at 2.8GHz and up to 4GB of RAM, together with up to 1TB of storage space, 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0. Upgrading memory is made easy with a one-screw access panel.

That Bluetooth will come into its own when you add Apple’s new wireless keyboard. It also turns out the leaked pictures were the real deal – the new wired aluminium ’board is just 0.33-inches thick and has dedicated media transport controls.

On the rear, all the I/O ports are happily lined up, including USB 2.0, FireWire in 400 and 800 flavours and gigabit ethernet. There’s also a slot-loading SuperDrive and built-in iSight webcam.

In terms of price, the range starts with a 20-inch model at $1199, then another 20-inch at $1499, with the 24-incher coming in at $1799.

Interestingly, when questioned about the possibility of MultiTouch on future iMacs, Jobs was dismissive:

“[MultiTouch] makes sense for the iPhone, not sure it makes sense in the Mac. Classifiy that as a research project”

Whether that means it’s a research project Apple are undertaking or merely a complete dismissal, I guess we’re yet to discover!
