iPod Touch disassembled

by James Allan Brady on September 17, 2007

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I get a little perturbed when I have to wait for a gadget, and other people get it before I do, but it only gets worse when those people disassemble those gadgets. But the guys over at iFixit have done just that with a new iPod Touch. Apparently a lot of the new hardware is similar or the same as the iPhone. ... continued »

The Apple Rebate Process – Get your $100

by James Allan Brady on September 14, 2007

So a few of you (read: almost everyone who bought an iPhone and reads this site) had something to say about my post on September 5th where Apple dropped the iPhone price by a third only 2 months after its release. And then you furthermore had something to say along the rollercoaster from “no rebate for you!” to the final solution of a $100 Apple store gift card. Well the instructions ... continued »

Now with most open source projects, if there is something you don’t like, you go and change it. Apparently that philosophy doesn’t apply to the OpenMoko, where upon seeing the interface and being displeased with it, people started whining and knocking it. Their first chance to openly change anything and everything they could ... continued »

Samsung F700 gets a carrier and a new name

by James Allan Brady on September 13, 2007

The Samsung F700, now known as the Croix, thanks to a deal with Vodafone is quite the amazing device. It is purported to be targeted as an iPhone competitor, even though the Croix is everything the iPhone isn’t. A great alternative to the iPhone sure, but I don’t know how much of a direct competitor this phone will be. This amazing phone is so great that we don’t even need ... continued »

AT&T’s Wonderful Data Roaming

by James Allan Brady on September 13, 2007

So, most companies at least offer some sort of warning, or more likely, require you call to unlock data roaming so they can make sure you understand how much it will cost you. Well with AT&T it appears that bad credit is your only savior if you are caught out of your plan area using data. That’s right, if you have good enough credit, instead of contacting you, warning you, or ... continued »
