Following the Metro Paris Subway application, here is another Augmented Reality (AR) app for the iPhone 3Gs that’s welcomed into the App Store: RobotVision. The Bing-powered app has interesting features which appear on top of your iPhone’s camera viewer when you point at a restaurant or other places. It also displays Tweets and Flickr photos published nearby wherever you are.

By using Bing Local search to glean location and business review data, RobotVision gets access to some key Bing features like aggregated reviews from CitySearch, Judy’s Book and Yelp. Bing looks at the reviews of restaurants and tells you how they stack up in aggregate for a business’ food, ambience, service and more. (That’s a feature we’ve seen at BooRah, though that service doesn’t have access to Yelp reviews.)

Tim Sears, a Portland-based developer, expects to launch his AR browser next month.

Available from SoftBank for iPhone 3G and 3GS, its price is roughly $1,000 each.

Here’s a set of Jap-tastic iPhone cases that are so expensive they come with their own slip-cover case (for your case). These stunning works of fine art take designers four grueling weeks to complete using special paints, lacquer and gold dust.

The fantastical price of roughly $1,000 each is justified by the use of an overpaid historian, with each case design connecting to Japan’s rich pageantry of the Sengoku period (1467 to 1615).

Facebook has submitted ver. 3.0 of iPhone application to Apple, according to Joe Hewitt, software engineer at Facebook, through his tweet. The latest version will offer a bunch of features that enable us to optimize our Facebook account on the go.

TechCrunch writes:

That means that shortly, we’ll have access to the much-improved app which is scheduled to have features such as a News Feed that is more like the one on Facebook’s site, the ability to “like” items and a new customizable home screen. More importantly, it will also have video support for the iPhone 3GS, something which Hewitt threw-in at the last second, unexpectedly. And perhaps best of all, the app will have the ability to manage events, finally.
