The only weak plusses are you can cancel the service and unpaid balances roll over. I travel overseas a ton, so I want a phone that it truly prepaid, since my usage varies a lot when I am here. And I don't like the idea of more people have my social security number than is absolutely necessary. So the main reason to sign up for a GoPhone IMHO is so you can cancel after the first month and just use it as a PDA + MP3 player. Or if that's your objective, you can wait a few months and get the European version (rumors are that it will be unlocked......)
