If you've still got more burning questions that even AT&T's FAQ couldn't answer, we might just have what you're looking for. Another AT&T document has been leaked, and it has some juicy details.

First thing up is the credit check that I mentioned before. As reported before, they will be offering to run a credit check for all customers purchasing the iPhone. However, if you decline the check and need to pay a deposit, you will be required to go back to the store in order to pay, you won't be able to do that from home. If your credit isn't up to snuff, you'll be required to pony up $250 for a security deposit. Then you can go home and enter a code that lets iTunes know that you've paid your deposit in full.

Next up is the accessories. They will have five different Apple-branded iPhone accessories ready at launch, so you'll have at least a few niceties to go with your new toy. If you don't like them, you're only going to have 14 days to bring them back, just like the iPhone itself. Oh, and if you get a defective iPhone, don't bother trying to return it to an AT&T store, you'll need to deal with Apple directly.

Finally, there had been rumors about a prepaid service for the iPhone. This has ended up being true. (Nice call Boy Genius) If your credit comes back and is exceptionally bad, they are allowed to offer you prepaid Go Phone service on your shiny new iPhone. That's right, an iPhone without the contract! No word on exactly how bad your credit will need to be in order for them to offer you the prepaid service.
Keep checking back for the latest news, it just keeps rolling in!
AT&T Internal Apple iPhone document leaked. Prepaid iPhones, unboxing, credit checks, and more! [via boygenius]

Hate to tell you, but GoPhone Pick Your Plan is a ruse to force customers into getting a contract. It’s the worst of both worlds. You prepay, you have to select a plan, which forces you to buy the same amount of minutes every month, the price per minute isn’t so hot, you have to have a big commitment to get free nights and weekends. The only weak plusses are you can cancel the service and unpaid balances roll over.
I travel overseas a ton, so I want a phone that it truly prepaid, since my usage varies a lot when I am here. And I don’t like the idea of more people have my social security number than is absolutely necessary.
So the main reason to sign up for a GoPhone IMHO is so you can cancel after the first month and just use it as a PDA + MP3 player. Or if that’s your objective, you can wait a few months and get the European version (rumors are that it will be unlocked……)
about the credit check thingy, i bet i could get the gophone, im only 17(i dont have a credit file). i work at walmart which is were im going to buy it at, so i just cant wait for the phone to come out. lets see the phone has been out of 3 days now…maybe it will be out…who knows
