‘Apple should pull the plug on the iPhone’ John C. Dvorak just wants you to get fired up

You have to wonder sometimes what people are thinking. Yes I know that we are all excited about the iPhone here, and there are plenty of people out there who could care less. But John C. Dvorak is convinced that Apple should just back out of the whole iPhone thing completely.

Is he nuts? Cingular/AT&T just announced that they’ve had over a million people wanting to know more about it, and want to be informed of when they can purchase the phone. “There is no likelihood that Apple can be successful in a business this competitive.” Sounds like the same kinds of things PC users have been saying for years about the Mac.

Don’t get too fired up, John-boy just likes getting the Apple fans all worked up. Why would he want to do something like that you ask? It’s all about the numbers. He doesn’t care what people think of him, as long as they visit his site. Brings to mind an old clip I saw last year of him talking about just that.
