This is the day we've been waiting for, no not the launch day, the other day we've been waiting for. Today Apple received official approval from the FCC to release the iPhone.

iPhone FCC approval

With only around a month until the expected launch, some experts have become uneasy about the fact that the FCC still had not approved the device. Now everyone can breathe a collective sigh of relief.

Now the next big announcement we're waiting for is the official launch date. Since they have received the FCC's blessing, I expect that Apple will make a formal announcement regarding the release date soon.

Update: If you're looking for the official FCC documentation, it can be found here.

Heh, there are a lot of “other days we’ve been waiting for.” Now we’re waiting for the day they tell us it will launch, then there’s the day it launches. After that will be the day they replenish their stock, then there’s the day they announce version 2.0…..

Apple wants permanent confidentiality omissions including the iPhone’s Block Diagram, Operational Description, Radio Schematic, Radio Bill of Material, Radio Tune-up Procedure, and Exhibit notes.

This is a bummer - we’ll never know the iPhone’s internal unless we crack her open.

Maybe the launch day announcement will come soon since the FCC approval finally came through?

Don’t worry Vincent, I’ve got my set of tiny screwdrivers sitting here just waiting to pry into it.

taking it apart is one thing, putting everything back into working order is another :)

Now, all I’m wondering is if they’re going to be lines to purchase it, those stupid people who buy it and smash it in public view, and the “Will It Blend?” idiots.

Rest assured that we won’t do any senseless destruction here. Not getting it back together after dismantling it, that’ll be unfortunate, so I’ll have to do my best to get it back together.
