Most people seem happy with their splendid iPhone purchases, but some – including our own Vincent Nguyen, who is on his third iPhone already – are having issues. One of the top complaints appears to be the battery; specifically it refusing to properly charge. The scenario differs from case to case: some can only recharge their phone when it’s turned off, others have to have it turned on, and some have never managed to get it to display 100% battery no matter what they do.
WirelessInfo have been doing an unofficial straw poll and over 60% of the people who responded reported problems with the displayed battery status. When they contacted Apple’s PR for a comment, they were told:
“Your battery is fully charged, but the UI (User Interface) is just not correctly reflecting this. We expect to fix this in a software update” Apple PR
No timescale was given for when this update would be released, nor when Apple would put out a statement confirming the issue. In the meantime, owners are recommended to follow our earlier advice and take your iPhone back to the nearest Apple store for a replacement.
