They have absolutely FAILED at convincing the advertisers in the world that iPhone apps have potential as viable advertising channels. Couple that with the fact that ad revenue has dropped sharply in recent months and I'd say it's safe to call AdMob a failed experiment. They grabbed headlines with their claim that they were going to pay out $1,000,000 to iPhone developers, and now they are at it again with another traffic generating scheme. I'd be willing to bet this initiative is more a way at filling the blank ad space that plagues applications using AdMob. AdMob has turned into a joke.
