He didn't confirm this but we talked for a bit and confirmed my belief that at this point its a better investment to wait it out. Everything i've read said the new iphone will sport 3G instead of EDGE (2G) network speeds and (more importantly for me) finally a integrated GPS. I'm holding out at the moment, i've waited this long for a reason, always buy the second gen of a product. Apple apparently just completely sold out of 1st gen, which points to the fact there holding back inventory on a new release but want to dry out the old inventory first. With WWDC right corner June 9th-12th I think they will release the new iphone right before more likely at the conference since this year will focus heavily on the new SDK for the iphone. All iphone users should be expecting a update to v2.0 which will start to fix the frustration of the lack of apps available currently.
