People are stupid. I'm excited about the iPhone, but if I were to stumble onto an auction where someone was promising to get me an iPhone at launch, I would know better than to bid on it. Apparently, there are plenty of suckers out there though.

Bidding is insane on these, you can find them anywhere from around $1,000 to $10,000. For $10k it had better be made out of solid gold. Oh wait, according to the auction it is made out of solid 14 karat gold. Right.
People please, don't bid on these auctions. There is no way that anyone can guarantee they are going to get their hands on this many iPhones. Yes, the sellers may have good feedback, but that doesn't really mean much when the product hasn't even been approved by the FCC. And if someone actually bids on a $10k solid gold iPhone they deserve to get ripped off.
Apple iPhones on eBay for $1,000 to $10,000 [via Apple2.0]

I predict we’ll have ebay squatters in front of the AT&T and Apple stores on launch day… they’ll swallow the 2 year contract and all and will probably make $1000 profit easily if the iPhones sell out relatively fast.
Hmm… maybe I’d buy for 9k, but definitely not 10 :)
