Well, it looks like the iTunes App Store is off to a rip-roaring start. More than 1,000 unique applications have been uploaded. But what's even more impressive is the download stats.

Since the store's open, over 25 million apps have been downloaded. This not only is  a good sign for the success of the App Store--it's also a good sign that this may just be a great means of selling mobile software for consumers and businesses alike.

Because many apps are currently free and the vast majority--around 90%--are priced under $10, this isn't a huge market yet. But it certainly has the potential to be so and I would set my watch that it will be so, soon.
